Handling is a standout feature. The KLX 230’s lightweight build makes it nimble, and the wide handlebars allow for easy counter-steering. Its tall stance and narrow seat enable comfortable weight shifts during technical maneuvers.
Switching off the rear ABS improved braking efficiency on loose soil, providing predictable slides. While we couldn’t test its road performance, the bike’s dirt-track handling was confidence-inspiring.

After a brief but insightful ride, the Kawasaki KLX 230 emerges as a promising contender in the beginner-friendly off-road segment. With its lightweight build, smooth power delivery, and versatile handling, it caters to newcomers and seasoned riders alike.
However, pricing will be key. Currently a CKD unit, the KLX 230 is expected to retail around Rs. 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Kawasaki has hinted at localizing production if there’s sufficient demand, which could make the bike more affordable.
